My Pound For Pound List:
1. Floyd Mayweather
Few would argue against Floyd Mayweather occupying the #1 spot. He is the best fighter in the world and his recent performances against Robert Guerrero & Canelo Alvarez have gone a long way to cementing his legacy and eliminating the only argument that has pushed him off #1 Pound For Pound status since he first made it up here; inactivity.
2. Andre Ward
Andre Ward is a winner. Like Floyd Mayweather in #1, he has no clear weaknesses and towers head and shoulders above the best fighters in his and the surrounding weight divisions. As long as he gets back in the ring soon, not many would argue against him occupying #2 on this list.
3. Guillermo Rigondeaux
Guillermo Rigondeaux is a genius. His boxing IQ, fluid movement and defensive insticts make him nearly impossible to hit cleanly. The great shame is the lack of viable opponents and the fact that his talents are not shared on a bigger stage. He will not be defeated any time soon, he’s too good.
4. Juan Manuel Marquez
With his 40th birthday approaching, Juan Manuel seems at the very top of his game. He has been very near the top of the sport for so long and his most recent victory, a stunning KO victory over Manny Pacquiao demands that that he be this high in this list.
5. Bernard Hopkins
For as long as Bernard Hopkins continues dominating the light heavyweight division there is going to be a place for him on this list.
6. Sergio Martinez
7. Mikey Garcia
8. Danny ‘Swift’ Garcia
9. Timothy ‘The Desert Storm’ Bradley
10. Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez
